Our coaches
All of our coaches are holding either CSCF (Canadian Ski Coach Federation) certificates, or CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructor) certificates or both, which offers you the highest quality program in every ski / snowboard lesson.
Private or Semi-private Lessons
Private ski or snowboard lessons are offered from 9 am to 9 pm over the weekend at St. Louis or weekdays from 5 pm - 9 pm at Earl Bales or Uplands. This lesson is targeting the first time skiing / snowboarding learners who wants to experience this new sport for the first time in their life. Also, for some people who have been skiing for some years, and want the coach to review their technique and improve their skill level.
Group Lessons
Group lesson is targeting for a small group of students, roughly 3 - 6 kids who are at the same age and ski at the same level. It's a group that wants to ski together and get their ski level improved. The students will be rotating around the coach and will work on different drills based on their techniques. We generally use green or blue slopes for the lessons.
Pre-race Program
Pre-race program will run every season from early December to the end of February next year. It's a 10-week long program and start from 10 am to 3:00 pm with one hour lunch break. This is an advanced ski group which asks skiers to be able to ski on blue slopes with parallel turns comfortably and a hockey stop efficiently. You need to communicate the head coach and ask for evaluation before enrolling this program. The program is targeting 10 members, 8 are regular team members, and another 2 spots are reserved for other students who are willing to try out the lesson or for next season. It is run by both head coach and assistant coach in two groups, occasionally we might hire coaches from the Glacier Club for extra supervising and technique analysis based on their availabilities.
Locations
All of our weekend lessons are offered at Mt. St. Louis & Moonstone. It is just on exit 131 from Highway 400. There are two parking lots from this resort, one is St. Louis and the other is Mt. moonstone. We meet our students at the North Entrance in St. Louis base, just under the clock tower and beside the snow school sign.
During weekdays, we also offer lesson at the GTA area, which includes Earl Bales Ski and Snowboard Centre and Uplands Ski Resort. Please be aware that there are only small hills on those resorts, so it is only targeting the beginners, not intermediate and advanced skiers or snowboarders.
Policies
1. After confirmed with the School on the schedule or package you are going to take , please ensure to pay the full tuition ASAP before going to the class. If you are late or not paying the lesson fee, there is no guarantee your time slot is secured as prime time slots on weekends are easily taken by other people. Please E-Transfer to peaksnowschool@gmail.com, along with the student('s) name and class date or time, package etc.
2.Since there is a limit to the time slots for the lessons each day, please ensure you are well prepared for the lesson. Being on time is your top priority, if it is your first time going to the ski resort, you need to be prepared at least one hour in advance before lesson starts. If you are late for the class, there is no compensation on the price or the time.
3. If you would like to cancel your lessons due to unpredictable reasons, you need to call the school 24 hours in advance. If you have paid the tuition, the school will re-arrange your class on the next available time. If you cancel your lesson within 24 hours , we will still charge you with the full lesson fees.
4. If you buy the 10 hours lesson package, it is only valid for one season (you cannot transfer to the next season). If you have not used 10 hours by the end of season, we will calculate the hours used with the regular price and refund you with the amount (based on time) not used. There will still be $25 administration charge.
5. Since the pre-race program is a 10-week package, there is no refund if you miss one weekend, you are late or you need to leave early in the class. Alternatively, if the schedule doesn't fit you, you could register this program as an optional skier (permitted if space is available), and it will be charged on hourly basis with $40 per hour, so you don't have to join the team every week. Again, since this is an optional space, there is no guarantee your spot can be available every week.
6. If you are a first time student with the school, you will need to print out the waiver form, sign it, then scan it and then email it back to the school before going to the class. Or we can use e-Sign by sending the waiver form to your email address, then please sign it from your email inbox and we will get your signature automatically.
